In The Limelight

Television

Intrigued by my near-death experience and my job as a mortician, the producers of TLC’s hit show Miami Ink cast me for an exciting Season 4 episode. The amazing Ami James gave me a hearse tattoo, a wonderful piece of art celebrating my profession. The entire cast agreed when Ami said it was “…the best black and gray (he’s) ever done!” The show aired in 2008. Scroll down to see it!

Magazines

In recent years, I have mostly been featured in gun/firearms magazines (this edition of Guns of The Old West, for instance) because of my successes in competition Mounted Shooting. It’s not everyday that reporters see a woman riding a fast horse in a Victorian-era gown, shooting a pair of real six guns at strategically placed targets. See My Activities for more on the thrills of mounted shooting.

I've also appeared in American Funeral Director, a magazine aimed at professionals in the death biz. The Meadow Hill Company has used me in their advertisements for their distinguished line of keepsake jewelry.

Newspapers

Local newspapers have interviewed me and featured my inspirational story. It’s amazing how an article can light a fire in so many people. I receive calls and letters from concerned readers wanting to deliver their congratulations personally. The articles have also sparked an interest in non-profit organizations and I have been invited to speak publicly for special needs groups and physical rehabilitation causes.

The Cortez Journal (left) highlighted my mounted shooting aspirations while The Lewiston Tribune (below) was intrigued by my appearance on Miami Ink and the intricate tattoo across my back.

(I hate that I'm not wearing a helmet for the Cortez Journal, but the photographer said he couldn't see my face when he took the pictures for the paper... terrible excuse, I know... shame on me)
